Recently, some humble eggheads who happen to be indigenes of Anambra State of Nigeria living in Switzerland came together to form an association. 

They did not form a political organisation. They did not form some profit organisation geared at ROI (Returns on investment). Instead, with deeper understanding and propelled by the desire to give, to give to those who “cannot pay you back” – they formed a non–profit organisation geared towards the up–lifting of humanity -they chose to help–and, because charity begins at home–they chose to help the less privileged of their own people back home. 

And it’s not that we are wealthy, or that we have surplus to share… No. 

Mama Theresa got it right. She said: 

“It is not how much you give but how much love you put into giving“…Do you agree? Sure you do. If you don’t, maybe it’s time to think deeper… Maybe it’s time you see “giving” in a new light 

After a couple of meetings, brainstorming, and making sure that all involved shared common ideology, in the month of October in 2013 APA was born. APA SWISS was legally registered at the Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission Abuja and the Swiss Handles Register purely as a non–profit organisation in 2014. 

The Anambra People’s Association of Switzerland (APA SWISS) is a gathering of serious minded, humanity–loving, civilised, foresighted Ndi Anambra living in Switzerland. Ours is a non profit organisation formed out of the need for us to contribute our quota, however little, to the continued emancipation and rehabilitation of Anambra state of Nigeria.
